No, if Ian needs for me to know those details he would inform me of them if he warrants it necessary. I trust in his judgment. But as for the "CAG" chat label, I think, given they have their own forum entity that provides those chats under their banner, we can change the Sunday night chats to a different name. As the CAG/SPA alliance was something that never OFFICIALLY made it into SPA Charter (We were just starting to work on wording for it with Sue Soares, when they handed down the decision that I wasn't worth being an honorary member there and would have to pay to join, which, well, I think I gave them more than that kind of money's worth of support while we were developing), so I wasn't interested in that. It was just a final straw on brewing stuff, and I lost interest in working directly with CAG at that point...I didn't really make it a big deal here, I just kinda assumed those that were following the SPA/CAG development knew.
I mean, it's FINE if they want to do their own thing, it's just some of the actions of some of the leaders were underhanded and shady, and elitist, and otherwise distasteful, so when it came up in chat, I let loose a bit on it. I don't like to HIDE my feelings, I like to think that I usually have good reason for the opinions I form.
I don't want to push CAGers away that ALSO like the SPA...but after spending over a year sending CAG new members for local development so we weren't duplicating effort, I feel like they stepped on us a bit, and now don't think they need us anymore. I gave up talking directly to the people who made sure the CAG/SPA alliance fell apart. Started talking a bit to Phil Clark again recently. Glad about that. The only reason I was airing my views here in this thread was that in the chat, it was a point that we were BOTH to blame equally, and I just don't think so. I didn't speak one word against anyone specifically. My only point is, I'm done with CAG until CAG gives us reason to think "working together" won't hurt the SPA in the log run again.
Let's start a new thread to discuss the positive of re-naming Sunday Chats...I gave out, in the BPP group, the idea that the night be called "Group Chat Night" - and talk be more focused on all other groups....you can use that as a springboard if you wish....
