THE SELF PUBLISHER ASSOCIATION

Welcome to the SPA, a loosely-knit group of writers, artists, publishers and their fans from around the world who have been brought together by their involvement with the wonderful world of small press. Our main goal and purpose is to be a learning/teaching group, bringing in more and more people to the wonderful world of the small press. If you have your name or company name listed on this website, then you are already a member! There are NO DUES to be a member of the group, but there are some membership fees to use some of the tools we've built for member use. You choose how much or how little you do as an SPA member. The Group is about taking positive steps towards achieving your dreams of being a writer, artist, and/or publisher, or who just want to read what such people produce. All who have something positive to add are welcome to participate.

The SPA has founded and is working on building and developing the following things, so far: The Small Press Idol yearly contest. The Dimestore Distro system (which includes Self Publisher! Magazine), The yearly Calendar, The Clueless how-to series, The IndyfestUSA convention, and the Self Publisher Hall of Fame system...in various stages of development and functionality. If you haven't joined the Forum, where we're doing discussion of projects, Click COMMUNITY in the top navigation bar. It is a topic-driven, fun place to share ideas, post your news, and get feedback on your latest writing or piece of art, with a code of conduct in place to assure all that there will be none of the flame wars or disrespect seen in many other forums. Newbies are always welcome to ask the simple questions to get started in the arenas of comics, music, animation, toys, games, etc.
