My arms are sore.

So sore.

...this new job (of which I'm now five weeks in) is still working my body into a reconditioning frenzy. As my son would have said back when he was a little toddler, I have "owie-boo boos" within my muscles.

But then I come here and my pains go away. And then I go to work and worsen my owie boo-boos. And repeat the process every day, like Groundhog Day.

Here's a curious subject for you all to share today:

Idiosyncrasies. Irks and Quirks. We all have some (or at least one, come on!). One of mine is how I always seem to be the one who changes the toilet paper roll, which is aggravating, or the toilet paper roll is down to...like...5 squares (or less) but somebody decided that should suffice for the next user. Oh no, one mustn't waste those 5 precious !@#$ing squares! Let's leave them for DAD! He only purges little bunny pebbles and surely shouldn't need more than THREE squares!! Mmmpppfffffff.....

...or how about those traffic lights near your house? Or the ones en route to work? Or to someplace when you're in a hurry? Ever feel they know you're comin' and they quickly turn red just for you? And the time you sit at that red light seems to take just a lit-tle bit longer than usual?

....oh yes, I have such a set of lights at the top of my street. They stay green all night long and then, when I drive up to them in the morning en route to work, they turn red for fifteen minutes. *eye twitch eye twitch eye twitch...

So let's hear 'em, folks! Who has some irks and quirks to share?

Why, oh why, must everyone always wait until I JUST SIT DOWN to ask me to do something. As if it would kill them to ask, 5 seconds earlier, hey, while you're up, can you turn off that light, get that remote, etc.etc....THEN they always get mad at ME for saying "Aw come on, I just sat down"

It's not like they don't know my foot makes walking about painful every step. Even the DOG does it. Wits till I just sit down, then comes over to ask to go out....

can't win.

quirks...i listen to the TV and my music while i'm writing. drives people insane. oh and i tuen the world out while i'm reading. if it doesn't touch me physically i wouldn't even know it was in the room with me while i'm in the reading zone.

Irks: I seem to be the only one who routinely changes the water bottle at the office. Which makes perfect sense, of course, since I'm usually nicely dressed (including 3" freaking heels) so of course I can totter out to shed and manhandle dusty bottles into the building then upend one into the cooler. I mean, yes I can and I do, but why does almost no one else? Hello? If it doesn't glug when you fill your mug, check the levels!

Quirks: waaaaaaay too many to mention, but here's a bone: I always put my M&Ms in color patterns or groups before eating them.

Irks and quirks? Perfect timing.

Late last night in the dark I slipped somwhere in my living room as I was starting to watch 24 season 3 episode 1. I did a faceplant. I don't remember how or where it happened. All I thought after that was what was the extent of the damage. I didn't exactly bump my forehead, it's more like I scraped it. Bad. Now I'm sportin' a bunch of bandaids today and thinking I might have a slight concussion...

I made it into work today though.

Bit of blood to clean up at home later too.

Well that;s one way to get the shine off your forehead. Well my day sucked as I couldn't get the scanner to work on my laptop so hope will work tomorrow.

LOL @ Rog! Man, she's been talking from a lady perspective, like, the WHOLE time! Probably you guys aren't used to wimmens here...as I'm about the only one...regularly posting...and I'll shut up now.

BTW, Rog- that traffic light thing...That's mine, too! Also, to compound that--sloowwww drivers at 8 am. WTF? It's the damned Rush Hour!

It's gonna leave a wicked-ass scar, so I bought some of that scar removal stuff for when the time comes. I can't find what item on my entertainment center that I plowed into. No concussion. I Googled that and am not nauseous or anything else that would define a concussion. Hey, I'm up late enough to start a Thursday roll call!

Generous amounts of Neosporin should avoid a lot of the scarring, Wade. Good to hear there was no concussion after all

Reference lost on me.

Not only were they 3 inch heels, Ginny, Haden Panettiere loaned 'em to me so they were too small for my feet, thus compounding the problem...!

See several posts above, Jim. I got up off my couch, lost my balance, and took a nose-dive into one of my entertainment center components. It's gonna leave a bit of a scar on my forehead, to say the least. I'm fine. No infection. No concussion. I let it all "air out" to help it dry and start to heal today. Down from 3 butterfly closures to two and still with the large antibiotic-soaked bandaid.

Seriously, my friend. Ouch! I'm so sorry to hear you went through that nasty experience.

Man, that reminded me of an incident I had a few years ago, back in a townhouse we rented, I was walking upstairs with a cup of coffee in my hand and, upon reaching the top few steps, I 'under stepped', catching my toes on the lip of a step instead of landing on it, and the momentum of me moving steadily upward and forward prevented me from keeping an upright balance thus I toppled a few feet onto the top landing, head-- no, FACE- first into a facing wall (which is why they probably call it a 'facing' wall. These are designed for colliding faces), resulting in a large bump and abrasion on the bridge of my nose, right between the eyes. You see, with a coffee in my right hand (where the railing was, on my right side), and a smooth wall on my left side, I was more concerned about spilling the damn coffee on the carpet than my own safety and had no support to prevent me from tipping when I did trip! lol. Oh, but it didn't matter about the coffee-saving effort. No, no. Coffee STILL got spilled PLUS I had a nasty headache as well as a bleeding nose from it all. And the sound of 'crunch' upon impact brought my family running upstairs as they knew somehow I had fallen. Funny to laugh about now, but not so hyuk-hyuk when it happened.

I considered wearing a helmut afterwards but my kids said I would just look like someone who is..ummmm..." special", with a capital 'R'.
